Well I can vouch for the MidiSport 2x2 from midiman. I've used it
on both a B&W G3 and my Windows98 PC with Logic. I think it might
be cool if emagic were to come out with something like an AMT2, though!
Following in the footsteps of the old Unitor2.
By the way Gareth, and some of you others, I glanced over some of the
discussion about the Nord Modular editing and you guys wanting a separate
interface to run the editing side of it. I would have to recommend having
a separate small midi interface JUST for the Nord Modu/Micromodu editor
because its EXTREMELY midi bandwidth-intensive. In my case I have the
MidiMan 2x2 JUST for the Nord Modu editing so that my stack of EIGHT
Unitor8's don't have to deal with that editor's traffic and getting their
backplane congested and presenting timing problems for my whole stack.
By the way, fully agree with Gareth about the Nord Modular in general, I
just bought a second one and its slowly been winning my heart over the last
6 months or so - and unfortunately making my Roland 100m rig (22 modules
strong, but no doubt PUNY compared to Daniel Miller's 100m setup) and
other related walls o' analog gear collecting more dust than ever..
