Huuuhhh
I´ve gone thru the whole Windows hell over the last five days, ending
up with
a COMPLETE
(hard-) format of my drives, .....
WinXP wasn´t the best choice of my life ;-)
I had a lot of probs getting it to work, but NEVER could get it to work
flawless with logic
(5.01).
A LOT of ASIO overloads, much decreased system performance with logic
Baaahhhhhh I´m fed :-(
Are there others out there with the same negative results in running Logic
on
Xp ???
It was VERY smoothly running on my Win98se setup! With the same hardware !
(Asus P4T-E, 1,8 ghz Northwood, 512 mb PC 800 ram, RME Digi9636, AMT8,
Matrox G450DH )
For example:
I had a short piece which was made on a Pentium III 550 System, and it was
about 50 %
cpu usage at that time ...
I loaded it into Logic 5.01 on XP (on the new machine mentioned above) : 50
% usage with peaks, which caused "ASIO Overload" messages ...
????????
I´ve checked the drivers and settings (system is tweaked for ausio use
!)a
hundred
times, but i gaved up on this ....
Back to Win 98se / ME now, and see what will happen !
Sorry for venting, but ...

My setup is pretty much the same as yours and it´s working incredibly
well.
Maybe you are using some plugins or additional programs that messes with
your stability. Did you install XP/Win2000 drivers for everything?

Hi Harald,
are all your drives formatted to the same file system? do you have a dual
boot setup? if so is your previous OS visible to XP? did you update all your
device drivers?

XP and Logic are working excellently for me. Things have never been so good
for DAW users.
best regards,
