Does anyone know how to use the Bounce function to record the audio
output of external midi gear? I have read the other posts on this
issue and read the manual, but I still can't get it to work.
Currently I solo the midi track I want to record while I record audio
on another audio track. I have read the instructions on how to do
this by using the Live In's but it is not working. This is what I
do: I create a stereo Audio Input object and I am able to see the
audio levels going in that In but I cannot route the audio to the
Audio Out 1-2 object for bouncing. I made sure that the Audio Ins
were routed to OUt 1-2 and by default they are, but it still doesn't
work. I also turn the volume of that Audio Input object all the way
up and still nothing shows up. Is there any cabling that has to be
done in the audio environment to make the live input feed into the
Output 1-2. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I have done exactly what you said - route inputs to an output and
then bounce - it works here as long as software monitoring is
on. You mentioned soloing the midi track and recording to
another - I have done this also. Do you intend to simply record a
midi'd instrument as audio, or do you want to include live inputs
as you bounce your mix?
If you are just tracking synths before mixing and need to use
solo, just record enable your audio track, then put logic in
record-enable/toggle (it pauses) then highlight the midi track
objects you want to record/bounce, hit solo, then play. When
Logic enters record-enable, solo'd track objects are no longer
highlighted (at least in 5.0), so you have to select them *after*
putting Logic in record-enable mode. Works for me anyway.

That's it! Software monitoring. I missed that one. I activated it
and that solved my issue. Thanks for your help man!

I was just trying to simplify the bounce midi to audio process by
using bounce instead of manually soloing the object on the desired
track. I'll test this new method and choose which I like better.
Thanks again,
