Subject: [LC] Time Display Garbage - reassure me?
Message #104566
Just to ease my mind, can people confirm that occasionally, when the time display shows the "attention" or "alert" messages, some letters get left on the display when the bars/beats indicator returns (in the gaps between the numbers). It's a minor inconvenience and so obvious I'm sure no-one has felt the need to mention it, but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't alone - just in case it's a fault with my device. (LAWP 5.1/LC v1.0x/Unitor 8 mk 2/Win XP) Cheers, Steve. Steve Baker (valiumart) http://www.valiumart.com http://www.pre-fix.com

Can anyone respond to this and tell me whether this is a widespread problem or something particular to my set up? Just to clarify - to reproduce: Switch on LC and open up a new song in Logic Bring up the "Save As..." dialog - LC LED display shows "AlErt" as expected. Cancel the Save dialog - LC LED display still shows "AlErt" Move Song Position to (for example) 2 bars, 2 beats, sub division 3 - LC LED display shows "2 2A3Ert" As I said, this isn't a major problem, but I'm hoping it's not just me! For any dialog involving a file selector it is necessary to use your keyboard and mouse. NG

Sorry - I should have been clearer, I cancel the save dialog with the mouse/keyboard - this is fine - it's what's left on the LC LED display that concerns me - do you experience the same thing? This would be a bug which slipped thru the beta test. Mac or Windows? Does it happen every time you close the "Save as" dialog? Do you mean menu item "File > Save as..." to save a song with a different name? This is correct, but it should not garble the time display. -- Beste Gruesse - best regards, Michael Haydn EMAGIC Soft- und Hardware GmbH SoundDiver Group Executive Logic Developer (Logic Control integration) Unitor8 Control Project Manager

Mac or Windows? > Does it happen every time you close the "Save as" dialog? Do you mean > menu item "File > Save as..." to save a song with a different name? > (just to make sure) Michael, In answer: PC, LAWP 5.1, LC 1.0x, Unitor 8 Mk2 (Serial), Win XP Pro I can confirm the following behaviour (in as much detail as I can!): Switch on LC (my default view is for LC to show bars/beats) Start up LAWP 5.1 (default autoload.lso) Bring up "File/Save As..." menu - LED shows "AlErt" If you cancel the dialog from keyboard or mouse (or select a filename and save) the "AlErt" message remains on the display. This gets garbled when subsequent changes are made to the Song Position. (Problem #1) Say you move the song position to 10 1 1 1 then back to 1 1 1 1 - the display now shows "1 1 1E 1" --- If you press the LC SMPTE display button, the view shows "1.00.00.00.E00" (Problem #2 - switching between beats/smpte view does not properly reset LC LED display) --- A similar problem can be demonstrated with the the "AttEntIon" LED message: Switch on LC as before and start up LAWP 5.1 Select "File/Open..." - the "Close current songs before opening new song" dialog appears - the LC LED shows "AttEntIon" Select "Don't Close" (using mouse or V-Pot) - the "Open" file dialog appears - the LC LED still shows "AttEntIon" Cancel the Open dialog using the mouse - the LC LED still shows "AttEntIon" Move the song position using the LC jog wheel to 10 1 1 1 and back to 1 1 1 1 - the LED display now shows "1tEntIon"! --- These problems seem to occur whenever the on-screen dialogs appear. There does seem to be a condition where an on-screen dialog does not result in "AlErt" or "AttEntIon" being shown on the LED, but I have not been able to come up with a sequence to reproduce this. Hope this helps - can you reproduce this behaviour and confirm it's a bug? Regards, Steve.
