Hi. In case anyone is interested, this is exactly why I made the Monomaker plugin. I like constant-volume pan (-6 dB padding), so I made this simple plugin. And I use it all the time for panning in my songs. That way I can get the mix levels like I want them & then go panning things & not have to re-adjust gain levels to compensate for lost signal level. Monomaker also, rather than balancing stereo signals, recenters the signal. What this means is that if you turn the pan to -50%, you get 100% of the left signal in the left channel plus 50% of the right signal, & in the right channel you get another 50% of the right signal. This is different from balance where you would get 150% of the left channel in the left & 50% of the right channel in the right (or simply 100% in the left if gain compensation wasn't taking place). I like it better this way in most cases... Anyway, anyone interested can get it here: http://www.smartelectronix.com/~destroyfx/extras/ It's free, & open source if you're not satisfied with it. Nothing too exciting, but I think it's useful. I also recommend my RMS Buddy plugin for anyone who does mastering. I use that to check out every mix that I make, it's so so useful in my opinion. I'm not trying to shamelessly pump my plugins here, I just think this might appease some of the pan greif out there. And a lot of you might ignore Destroy FX because you think that we only make bizzare, twisted effects, but you don't realize that I've also made some handy utilities...
