Hi there,
If anyone is using Logic Audio and Acid/Gigastudio on the same PC or
Gigastudio/Acid or softsynths on separate PC's and is interested in using
midi over a network. Instead of having to buy extra midi interfaces then i
suggest you try this!!
MIDI Replicator Driver http://www.musiclab.com/products/rpl_info.htm
Multi-client MIDI device access
Communication between MIDI applications
MIDI over network
1) Open more than one MIDI program in Windows 9x/ME/2000/XP! It can share
existing single-session MIDI IN and OUT ports between your favorite MIDI
programs.
2) Create local MIDI Pipe devices supporting fast MIDI events transfer from
MIDI OUT port to MIDI IN port (the feature for example allows to direct MIDI
OUT stream from one MIDI sequencer to MIDI IN port of another one).
3) Connect MIDI applications running on several computers connected together
via local network. Now you can easily receive/transmit MIDI events from/to
remote computers via local network to:
synchronize sequencers on several computers;
playback music using your sound devices located on different computers in a
time;
play jam sessions on several computers;
record music playing back on remote computer.
I have tried the demo and it works very well.You will need 2 programs
MIDI Replicator Driver 2.0.2 Demo
http://www.musiclab.com/downloads/demo/index.htm#128
MIDI Connection Center 1.1 http://www.musiclab.com/downloads/free/
You have to install Midi Replicator on each computer in the network and Midi
Connection centre on your Logic computer.The demo only allows one input and
output port but the full version £29! allows up to 10 input and output
ports
and 2-8 client devices.
Cheers

ps I don't work for them!
