Hi List,
I was wondering what you guys would recommend. I'm going to invest in a
high-end mic pre-amp soon, and I think both the Focusrite ISA 220
Session Pack and Avalon's 737 look pretty tempting. I'm slightly leaning
towards the Avalon, as I think it would complement the sound of my U87
more than the ISA. But the ISA comes with an optional A/D converter card
which is supposed to be pretty good. My question is: Do you guys think
the ISA A/D converter is SO much better than the MOTU's conversion that
it's worth NOT buying the Avalon? Is anyone using the Avalon with a MOTU
2408 MkII and not desperately longing for better converters?
Unfortunately my budget doesn't stretch to include an Apogee box as well!
Please reply privately or to the OT List! Thank you!
Cheers,
Recky
