Subject: [LAW] LAWP 5.1 problem...
Message #101935
I agree with most everyone that Logic Control is a necessary item. I recieved mine last week and I would find it difficult couldn't go back to not using one. I have run across a problem however with Logic Audio 5.1. When playing the demo song that comes with 5.0, 'Logic Platinum 5 Demo ASIO', if I try and mute the screen sets track (even when the demo is not playing) I get immediately the following popup message: 'Running out of Sequences.' When I try and close that popup message down, another messagebox comes up and says: 'Warning! Not enough memory. Could not add last operation to UNDO history.', etc. When I try and close that messagebox down, the first messagebox pops up again and continues to pop up everytime that I try to close it. The only way that I can get out of it is to bring up the Windows task manager (ctrl-alt-del) to shut LAWP down. When I do try and shut LAWP down, it shows that it is using about 85Meg of memory... I have: 512M ram 800MHz P3 24GB left on the system drive 12GB left on the audio drive RME Hammerfall ASIO (latest driver that now supports Giga GSIF!) I don't seem to have this problem when running under LAWP 5.0. There does also seem to be a bit more CPU (or whatever overhead) when using LAWP 5.1. When running 5.1 vs. 5.0, I need to bump up the Hammerfall from the 3mS to 6mS buffer size to eliminate noise problems on some songs. (another reason why you may want to wait for 5.1+x... LAWP 5.1 does have some other problems to be worked out.) Danny
