Subject: [LUG] GEN 'Write to End'
Message #101821
Hi I can't find any documentation on what the functions 'write to end' and 'write to right locator'. I know that are for the automation, but what do these options do exactly? Thanks Kim

Let's say you have a bunch of automation throughout the song. And then at Bar 10 you decide you want the current value to exist all the way to the end (or right locator). So you invoke this command and then you have the current value existing as a straight line all the way to the end (or right locator). Sure, you easily graphically do this by selecting the current node and dragging it all the way to the end. Or by Option-double clicking at the last desired node to select all following nodes and then delete them. But this quick command you've asked about is desirable when you don't want to graphically do it. In the days of zero graphic interface (like SSL automation), such commands were used a lot. f-erenc szabo, smarty pants (Tastes awful, but it works) Z+E+R+O+B+E+A+T "NOW POWERED BY THE MIRACLE OF THE TRANSISTOR!"

Thanks That is what I thought it should do > Let's say you have a bunch of automation throughout the song. Say I record a bunch of austomation in a sine wave type pattern for 4 bars. I put the spp at a point of a crest at bar 2 2 0 0. Now if I try the function 'write to end' nothing is altered. The rest of the sine wave pattern and automation data is not altered. Obviously I am doing something wrong, otherwise it would have been mentioned by other people, but what else do should I be doing? I am using LAWP 5.1 Thanks Kim
