Hanno,
Thanks for your reply. My idea for getting the G3 upgrade is so that i can
make use of the Mac's AV capabilities for more tracks. I have the capability
of recording through either my AMII or CBX D5 , but I want to use these
alongside the xxx number of tracks I can get on the AV side, or have them
transferred and played back through the Mac for realtime effects,
compression, further mixdown ,etc. I don't want to upgrade just because of
screen redraws and processing times, etc - I want many tracks and plug-ins -
that is, until I upgrade my jaz disk too!
(I cannot find the original Beige G3's anywhere in Hong Kong and i don't
want to upgrade to new G3/4 and worry about USB interfaces and SCSI adapters
and the like.)
So, when you say the card does not record in stereo, you mean i cannot
record(split stereo) using AMII within Logic? Or do you just mean I cannot
record stereo interleaved files in Logic using AMII (didn't know i could do
that anyways) or did you mean you just cannot record with AMII when using SD
II?
So if the card does not support ASIO, can I still use Mac AV (as opposed to
ASIO with Sound Manager driver) option with the Sonnet card then? in other
words, lots of audio tracks and real time plug-ins...tha's what I'm craving
How many tracks are you getting out of your Sonnet card?
Thanks to all replies and sorry for long email

you can not record stereo with the sonnet with SD II and AM 2 . to do that
you must restart without the sonnet extension. also: no direct I/O with
nubus no ASIO with nubus
