I actually have used several extensions sets also, one with and one without
OMS. Since I have to restart to turn off Virtual Memory anyway, can anyone
tell me what are the minimum necessary extensions in MacOS 8.6 for the
fastest and most stable performance? There are all these 3D and videocard
enablers that I have no idea if they are important or not. I do know you
need
Quicktime.....

Hey - great question!
I'd like to know this too.

well nobody can tell that generally , cause everybody has differnt cards in
the mac, but the general rule is:
take yourselve some time !!! start the mac with extensions off, go to
extensoins manager , and turn on the first items you surely need, like
quicktime and startup disc, general controls, monitors and sound and
memory, restart, try to boot logic, go back to extensions manager and add
the next extension/control panel. If you have enough time do a restart and
reboot logic every time until it runs. This is the surest way to find out
!!!
you sure dont need the clock, mouse, keyboard (unless you use a foreign
lingo) and 80% of what else the stuff in there as default, so take this
time and do it once ! you wont gain much in memory , but the system is
faster and stable
