Subject: DSP Factory pop problem understood, but....
Message #7397
Hello, About 2 months ago I posted a question regarding the DSP factory clicking and popping. I received several replies telling me I should change my video card to AGP, check syncs, etc. I thank those who have replied, but after a lot of hardship, memory expansion, and research, one simple call to Yamaha, voila, turns out that my card was one of the bad ones out of the original batch released. Many of the cards released were missing a resistor, (I think). I sent the card, and they repaired it. (So please don't rule out a hardware problem) Now I don't have the clicks, but I really don't know if all is working as it should with LAWP. Is there anyone out there who knows where I can learn about usage of Logic with the DSP factory?--Yamaha tells me to go to Emagic.. Maybe this is a long shot, but also, having the AT-16 in parallel to the DS2416 connected to the Yamaha o1v mixer? Perhaps there is someone who has the same set up (I hope) My Problems: CPU too slow, (possible??with a CPU chip on the card itself?) No audio at all unless I reboot logic (on occassion) BAD syncing to MIDI when it feels like it...sometimes on different audio tracks!! Only 6 audio outs appear in the audio mixer. (There should be 8 or 12 according to the 8 outputs of the AT-16, and 2 digital outputs and 2 analog outs of the DS2416 no?) Only 4 inputs, Digital ins and analog ins(shouldn't the reverse be true as well with the AT-16 connected?? My relevant Hardware: Pentium 333 mhz 192 Meg RAM, DS2416, AT-16, Yamaha O1V Digital Mixer. The Digital out of the DS2416 is connected to Digital in of O1V Mixer, and vice versa. The Optical ins and outs od the AT-16 are connected to the optional I/O optical card in the mixer I use the Mixer with internal sync and set logic to digital sync. Is there a way to configure Logic to work with all of this correctly? Any known manuals? (other than that provided by Logic, and Yamaha) I would greatly appreciate any advice! Please email me Dahlialynn@... Dahlia
