Subject: LAMP What MIDI Interface?
Message #98284
Are USB interfaces problems fixed? I'm using a G4 450 with Unitor 8 MKII and LAMP 4.8.1. I installed a GPORT (or is it a Stealth?... one of those...) for the MIDI connections because , a year and a half ago USB MIDI was plagued by bugs (Timing problems , Sync issues and Machine gun Effects). I'm about to buy a G4 Powerbook , which Interface should I get? (I really need One IN , ONe OUT and no more than 16 midi channels). Audio Interface wise , does anyone have any favourites? (Stereo IN and 8 out will do). Thanks Federico

I've had horrible problems with Midiman drivers¾ware! If your using Logic and midi is your main gig I'd suggest one of the Emagic interfaces. Great timing and great intagration with Logic of course. chems fchieli wrote: > > Are USB interfaces problems fixed? > I'm using a G4 450 with Unitor 8 MKII and LAMP 4.8.1. > I installed a GPORT (or is it a Stealth?... one of those...) for the > MIDI connections because , a year and a half ago USB MIDI was > plagued by bugs (Timing problems , Sync issues and Machine > gun Effects). > I'm about to buy a G4 Powerbook , which Interface should I get? > (I really need One IN , ONe OUT and no more than 16 midi > channels). > Audio Interface wise , does anyone have any favourites? >We use Emagic's own AMT4 ..and we don't have any problems. I have the MT 4 too, but it never synced my second Mac to Midi Clock correctly using OMS. If you plan to sync your computer, don't get the MT4 (but e.g. the AMT 8).
