G'day, please excuse my lack of knowlege of electronics) I just
bought MaxiStuio ISIS the other day. Using Logic Pro Audio, the
signal from my microphone that inputs into the external rack is VERY
VERY quiet/low... I went to the Guillemot site FAQ and it said I need
an external mixer or pre-amp to amplify the signals... I'm using an
unidirectional mic, would using an omnidirectional mic fix this? Or
would i need some other expensive equipment?
Also another thing, I get a system overload error sometimes when i
try adding more than one effect. Is it because my computer is an
ancient intel pentium 166 with 64 ram?
Please help,
Thank you...

You need a microphone preamp to use any Microphone - regardless of polar
pattern.
