Well, I've been in this business for a lot of years, and naïve I am
not. I
guarantee that the upgrade pricing is affected by piracy. It isn't the only
factor of course, but it is a factor. I didn't mean the price would drop if
we all turn in our dongles, but as piracy rises, pricing does as well. It
is a cost of doing business, and all costs get passed on in price increases.

I'm not advocating getting anything rammed down your throat. My point is,
take it off the LUG. Send the hate mail to emagic directly and stop
spamming the rest of us. It was fine for a while because it was a
discussion. Now it's just vitriolic whining. The issues have been
discussed, and representatives from Emagic have been as forthright as
possible in answering questions and complaints. Michael even dealt with the
issue of crossplatform use in a message recently, but still the mail flows
like the Mississippi.

If the bugs made it unusable, then yes I would, until they fixed it. The
best part is they are already working on it, and future releases are
imminent. I think it was Michael that said wit til Frankfurt.

The problems I have no problem with :)
It is the posts that are just whining and moaning without any useful
discussion or dialogue that drive me nuts. I don't want to censor anyone.

I don't want to leave, I just want all of us to respect each other and have
a good dialogue about suggestions, etc. I think there is a lot of really
great information on this list. Unfortunately at the moment there is also a
lot of less informational stuff as well. I am on another listserv for
Theater Sound professionals, educators and students, and quite literally,
there has been more Noise on this list in the last week than has been on
that one in a year or more. So, I have seen the ideal, and I would love for
all of us to strive to achieve the same nirvana :)
That includes me, so this is my last message on this topic. Any other
responses can come to me directly, off list, if you want to continue this
philosophical discussion.
