Well, I've been in this business for a lot of years, and naïve I am not. I guarantee that the upgrade pricing is affected by piracy. It isn't the only factor of course, but it is a factor. I didn't mean the price would drop if we all turn in our dongles, but as piracy rises, pricing does as well. My point is, take it off the LUG. Send the hate mail to emagic directly and stop spamming the rest of us. It was fine for a while because it was a discussion. Now it's just vitriolic whining. The issues have been discussed, and representatives from Emagic have been as forthright as possible in answering questions and complaints. I don't want to leave, I just want all of us to respect each other and have a good dialogue about suggestions, etc. I think there is a lot of really great information on this list. Unfortunately at the moment there is also a lot of less informational stuff as well. I am on another listserv for Theater Sound professionals, educators and students, and quite literally, there has been more Noise on this list in the last week than has been on that one in a year or more. So, I have seen the ideal, and I would love for all of us to strive to achieve the same nirvana :) That includes me, so this is my last message on this topic.
