Subject: [LAW] emi 2|6 and pc laptops
Message #98120
what kind of latency can i expect with the emi 2|6 on a ghz dell inspiron 8100? i heard there were irq issues with the emi on some systems, can i get any clarification? (emgaic didnt tell me much) i'm also a little sketchy about the whole concept of a USB audio interface. i'll be using EASI at 44.1/16 which i assume is the setting for lowest latency. can i get some feedback from ppl with any experience or maybe even some vague speculation as to how this card handles it's job? -bokonon bokononVCF on aim

Hi, "what kind of latency can i expect with the emi 2|6 on a ghz dell inspiron 8100?" Well, I tried it on a much less powerful Dell Latitude @500MHz and worked perfectly. It ran the Demosong H-Beat and all its audio tracks with great stability and not a single audio glitch. This also applied to ES1 and EXS24. I think Dell manufactures great computers for audio, this Latitude laptop worked better than many desktop computers I have tried. But remember to use Windows 2000 to achieve the stability I am talking about. Regards, Ismael
