Subject: LAMP 5 / OS X / Plug-Ins question
Message #98103
I have three questions: Nr. 1 Is there any info on when the OS X update for LAMP 5 will be released. Is this a matter of weeks or rather months before this will happen ? Nr. 2 Once the LAMP 5 compatibility update for OS X is released what will be the situation in terms of already exisiting EXS 24 and ESB software for OS 9 ? Will they be updated for free and will they be released at the same time as the LAMP update for OS X ? I am asking this because I am not sure whether I am safe in buying ESB and EXS 24 now. I am worried that Emagic will charge me again if I want to update them for OS X later. 3. What will be the deal with TDM Plug-Ins such as Virus or Focusrite D2/D3 etc. Will they need to be updated as well for OS X or will they still work somehow ? Thanks for answering Troy

Wait for Frankfurt to get more up-to-date information. > Nr. 2 Once the LAMP 5 compatibility update for OS X is released > what will be the situation in terms of already exisiting EXS 24 > and ESB software for OS 9 ? All integrated plugins (EXS24, ES1, etc) will work under X without any special update. > 3. TDM support under X is totally unknown. DigiDesign doesn't make any statement about their support for X (ok, besides "sometime in the future"). So we can't say anything about TDM support under X. I am pretty sure, that we have to release the first version of Logic 5 for X without TDM support.
