I'm curious about the impact of the new "optimisation for specific
processor
types and operating systems" in v.5
Is anyone using v.5 with a G4 and OS 9.x, and if so, is there a noticeable
difference in the number of plugins you can run before ASIO overload?

This is not fully implemented in 5.0.0. It will be around the 5.1. I would
suggest waiting with your tests till this version, because we expect a
_HUGE_ performance increase!

Is it really not implemented yet? I did a quick spectral gate test
with v5 with my AthlonXP 1800+ and I got a count of 36 - 11 more than
I got with 4.81.
System :
Logic5, WindowsXP Pro, AthlonXP1800+, AmD761 chipset, 512MB PC2100
DDR, Adaptec 2940 UW Scsi, RME Hammerfall 9636 (@3ms latency)

LAWP5.0.0 is only partially optimized and LAMP5.0.0 is
even less so. A future free subrelease will have the BIG
optimizations.
