Subject: LAM: how to control Akai S5000 from within Logic
Message #98047
Hi, How do I control my Akai S5000 from within Logic? I manage to control volume & pan etc using midi, but changes are only visible on the S5000 when I use sysex, rather then midi. How to setup a sysex fader to control (for instance) resonance on midi channel 11, first key group? And: Has someone done the hard work of creating an environment for the S5000? Thanks, Sambodhi Prem Global Suitcase Musical Recordings http://globalsuitcase.com

(trimmed by admin) I wish I knew how to do this myself, but I don't think it is possible. See the APM description in the manual. This setup seems rather stupid to me but I believe you can only control one parameter via an external controller number. I sent an email to Akai asking them how to control the cutoff and resonance at the same time via external control numbers and I haven't heard back from them. If you find out any info please email me. Thanks, Poke.
