Subject: LAMP: ASIO i/o overload?? (4.8)
Message #98034
i'm newly up and running on a TiBook 500MHz--specifically getting this model after some online fact finding about the newest tibooks. i'm getting ASIO overload messages after only a couple plugins (channel strip) and 3 instances of EXS24 instruments.  (no audio is running...) can someone please explain why this is happening?  --the CPU isn't even a 1/3 of the way up the meter...  surely it can't be because of my computer.. CAN IT?!~ gear: TiBook 500MHz (512 MB RAM) (recording to internal drive) mercury elite 80GB firwire drive (holding samples for exs24) exs24 es1 waldorf ppg plugin metric halo i/o dsp xv-5080 (w/ scsi zip drive) waldorf micro-q synth motu usb micro express do i need to change the settings in logic?  memory allocation for logic? Tony and others, I tried this on a whim and it may solve some problems. I Turned off all my Quicktime extensions and did not expereience any ASIO messages. Now when you do this you lose graphics for plug ins and for the exs24 sampler, BUT!! you still get list controls!! Just a thought and maybe a tech from Logic could explain why this would work? RBHProductions: Ok I am running OS 9.2 on A MAC G3 Beige 512 RAM And 500 MHZ Processor upgraded. I am getting the same ASIO System Overload audio engines was not able to process all required data in time (-10011) This is with two EX24 Instruments ionly 8 bars long each and one bus with a waves renassance plug-in and a compressor on it and a bus return on each. This seems to be an ongoing problem with Logic and MAC so wqhat is the solution to this? RBHProductions
