Hi all
When I was using 4.72 on Win98se, if I started a new song and pressed record
on any audio track, a dialog box would appear to ask me where to save the
audio. At this point I would give the song a folder and a title and from
that point on, any additions I made to that song, they would all be stored
in that one folder.
However, now I am on Win2k and 4.81, everytime I open my autolaod file to
start a new song and press record, no dialog box appears and when I check
where the audio would go, it defaults to my second drive.
I really liked it the old way, has anyone else experienced this change?
Does anyone know how to go back to the old way?
In my set audio record path window, I have it on song recording path, and
the path leads to my second drive. I think I need to get this to say 'no
audio path set'. Does anyone know how to do that?
Thanks
Kim
PS does anyone know if Logic 5 is in Australia yet?

To open that window, just press A. (or you chose it from the
Audio menu).
You can, of course, have a default location that the audio is
routed to in your autoload song. I have it routed to a folder called
"Untitled Audio" on my Audio Drive. I usually always think of
hitting "A" when creating a new song, but sometimes I check that
folder to check that it is empty, as it should always be.

Audio Configuration window:
Device>>(select audio hardware) ;
Edit>>remove record path
John Pitcairn
In Windows (maybe same in Mac?)
Hit "A" on the keybord.
Here you can setup global path and/or a song specific path.
People use this funktion different in their workarounds. I use to do it this
way:
When starting a new project I set the global path to a folder with the name
= songname on my dedicated harddisc for audio use only. Then I hit A for
every new track, and make foldername = track number + trackname in the
songfolder
Working this way gives me a ok stukture for filemanagement both in win
explorer & logic, and for backup on CD

Perform the function "Remove Record Path" from the
Audio Configuration Window and resave your Autoload.
Then your Autoload won't have a record path, and thus
always ask for one the first time.

That's exactly what I needed.
Thanks again
