Well, if you mix the original signal in, you could sure hear the p}{451||6.... sorry, I mean phasing. I'm sure I could learn to associate the pitches generated by such phase differences with specific numbers of samples at certain sampling rates, just like I use the pitch of my engine as a tachometer. Heck, I have chemist friends who can tell PPM by taste. But I digress. If you split the two signals left and right, you will find that good phase panning effects are all in the range of 0-35 samples at 44.1. After that, the brain has trouble pinpointing the source--it appears to move behind your head, sort of. With logic's handy sample delay plug-in and a pair of headphones, you can have fun with this yourself. Just thought you should know. But I am still unclear whether I can record these pannings in logic or not.... Has anybody actually successfully automated plug-in values??
