I have been asking for this forever.
There is a logistical concern, however--the arrange page would have to
create new tracks to view the folder items with, and what happens to items
you drag to these tracks?? I suppose the tracks could be greyed out beyond
the folder boundaries, like objects outside folder bounds already do......
but what happens when you open up two folders on the same track?? Now it
gets gnarly.
Still, until something like this is available, I will keep trying
periodically to employ folders in some meaningful way (other than to shove
into them semi-garbage I don't really expect to use, but don't want to throw
away) and give up in digust trying to deal with unpacking them gracefully.
I tried for the better part of a year to use a two-arrange window, nested
folder approach, as outlined on this list numerous times, and it was a huge
time waster. It's too important to be able to see all my sequences at once.
This is probably the reason no other software company has followed suite.
(AFAIK) A good idea in principle, but essentially a failure, as far as I'm
concerned. A poor panacea for old notator users.
One similar approach that would work in the arrange is a folder for TRACKS.
Then I could take all my background vocal TRACKS and pack them into a
folder, finder-style, with a little triangle next to the name, and choose to
look at them or not, solo them or not, mute them or not. I would use this
feature to death, and never bother with another logic-style object
folder....
Think about it, Markus & co!

PS: Anybody else found that the delay parameter doesn't work on audio tracks
in folders??
