Lars Vik - SignatureWell, finally it seems that I can get rid of my Win 98
partition. Good! My question is as follows; I've been having two partitions
on my computer, one based on Win 98 SE and one on W2K partition. The reason
for me two have two partitions have mainly been because my audio system
haven't been supporting W2K and there for it has been neccesary to hang on
to Win 98 for that. All my other applications run better under W2K (and now
XP) so I sat up a second partition for these programs. One result of this is
a very "clean" audio partition (Win 98) running only LAP and
Pulsar (and some other neccesary audio soft) which obviously is very good in
terms of conflicts, fragmentation, etc.
If I now start to use only one partition can that influence the performance
of my audio system? Clearly, there are always other software you use like
Microsoft Office, Photoshop, games etc. etc. Will that somehow stack my
system. In other words would it be better to still run two partitions, but
both with XP, where one is a clean audio install, and the other one with all
kinds of office tools.
Why I am reluctant to have two partitions is because I can be so slow to
reboot my computer just to write a letter, chech mail or write an invoice.
As a consequent I "stay in a partition" for days! But I guess
thats more of a personal character breach than anything else, after all...!

Regards!

Yes, probably.I have still to install XP next week, though. I will start in
a separate partition, still keeping the Win98 Logic partition for work.

Look at it from the bright side; you'll get the time to make good music that
way ;)
And during those gloomy "office partiotion" days you simply work
your ass
off to have a ball with the music partition on the next day.
