Hi All,
Just thought I'd add my two cents. I've been a _long time_ user of Logic
and have paid for many upgrades that came with an addendum as opposed to
a completely rewritten manual. (anyone remember 3.0?, It was a 2.6
manual with an addendum booklet; or 1.7, or 2.0, etc.). I don't think it
is irregular or unusual at all for upgrades to come with addendum
booklets. They can't be expected to completely rewrite the manual with
each upgrade can they?
So 4.0, like many other paid upgrades came with an addendum booklet.
What's the big deal? It's not different from many other past upgrades.
New purchasers got a package with the current manual at the time and an
update addendum booklet. Again, what's the big deal? Nothing different
than in the past when people bought 2.0 or 3.0. etc.
So it just so happens that now that Emagic has rewritten the manual yet
again, that it doesn't correspond time wise with the release of a major
paid upgrade. Their timing is off; the new manual came at a different
point in time. Everyone is acting like they're "owed" this manual
by
Emagic. Nonsense. Everyone got exactly what they paid for and the most
current documentation at the time of their purchases.
It would be nice if Emagic made some policy for people who purchased
recently (after a certain cut off date), so that they could have the new
manual available to them at a reduced cost. But it would just be a
goodwill gesture. I don't feel they "owe" it to anybody.
Maybe they should wait and call this the 4.1 manual and release it with
the next update (with a small addendum booklet of course:-))? Would
everyone then still feel like they were "owed" it to them free of
charge?
