Last night I went to see a friend's band play at a club, and the club had
charged them $30 to have a soundcheck!
But Emagic is right up there on the innovative fleecing front with the
manual.

Yes, this is extremely strange. After all, manual access alone has been
sufficient copy-protection for many software packages for years. People
"demo" it, and then when they really get serious, they buy the
software,
essentially just for the manual. Emagic's stand on this seems completely
bass-ackwards..... And yes, oddly pirate-friendly.
Oh well, I wouldn't want to run a music software company. What can I say.
