How is the Bounce feature a false digital mixdown? It's certainly
not done in the analog domain.
You may be referring to a very old feature in LA (way before Bounce
was implemented) actually called Digital Mixdown. This simply
merged selected files together but ignored any automation whatseover
(it just used the current static position of volume and pan, and possibly
effects). It doesn't work in realtime (usually faster).
Before there existed the feature "Make region seperate audiofile",
we
had to use Digital Mixdown along with a dummy piece of silent audio
to merge with the intended region we wanted to make a seperate file.
Ahh..... life is better now.
