In my unworldly joy of being an apple user, I just changed all my keycommands to apple-option-shift-crtl + key combinations .... definitly worth the pain! :) cheers, bernd

Hi all, just to add one to the discussion - 5 button mouse? I find it strange when I use my Mac to only have one mouse button. Especially for programs where you don't know many key commands (also in Logic assigning a tool to right click) the multibutton, scrolling (hit the scroll button to zoom fast all over the screen with the trackball) programable mouse sure is nice. With the two programable buttons on mine I assign them as back and forwards buttons with my browser etc. Does the Mac actually support scrolling or multibutton mice? I don't think so, but then again maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised. Regards Geoff Kakoschke

in some situations the mac does support scrolling / multibutton mice. in the finder, and apps like office 2001 and photoshop seem to let you scroll windows. logic does not at all, pretty annoying.. I tried a couple of times to rally support in this list to get emagic to address this with logic. responses were good, but the only official answer we got was that the mac OS doesn't officially support anything but a one button mouse, therefore it requires 'hacks' to the OS to get it to work. despite the fact that other software developers have found a way to make this work without any crashes or problems at all, emagic seemed uninterested in pursuing it so hopefully v5 and OSX will offer a solution more palatable to the coders at emagic. ------- antonio gambale [composer] tonemeister +61 2 93808606 +61 416052800 on 4/8/01 2:19 AM, Peter Duemmler at merlin@... wrote: > http://www.kensington.com/products/pro_c1376.html > > Peter > http://www.merlinsound.de > >> Does the Mac actually support scrolling or multibutton mice? Joeri, Could you PLEASE as moderator, have this discussion moved to the OT list. I was disappointed that you'd moved the location recording thread to the OT list after about 3-4 posts as it was actually interesting however this tired old thread has been allowed to continue for an annoying amount of time on the main list. Platform wars on any list are the most tedious discussions ever, you can take it as a given that NO ONE will ever agree and the same old arguments get hashed out again and again. I don't subscribe to the OT list and never will, a little consistency in movement of threads would be appreciated. Please people no more, don't you have more important things to discuss than 'my system is better than yours', as long as you are able to make a living/make music/work in a stable and reliable environment who cares. Thanks, Marcus

Agreed and I've done so. I couldn't stop it this weekend 'cause I had no internet connection. My apologies. -- Joeri Vankeirsbilck joeri@...
