Hello group,
i´m trying to control Reaktor 2.3.3 MAC via external MIDI-Clock
(Akai MPC 2000 ). As an interface i use the MT4 with OMS 2.3.8.
My problem is, that the tempo isn´t recognized properly. The tempo
in
Reaktor slows down permanently. Let´s say the tempo of the
sequencer
is 160 bpm. Reaktor starts at about half of the tempo (80 bpm) and
from that point permanently slows down, so that after a few seconds
it ends up with 50 bpm.
I need this for live-performances where an Akai MPC 2000 is
clockmaster and Reaktor is slave. in the past i managed this with a
midisport 2x2 interface.
to reach better timing with LOGIC, i switched over to the MT4 (which
works flawless within any application, except Reaktor).
Powerbook G3 Pismo (latest Firmware)
Mac OS 9.1
OMS 2.3.8
Logic Audio Platinum 4.7.2
Reaktor 2.3.3
thanks in advance for your answers

You mean Reaktor worked with the Midisport, but does not with the MT4?

Exactly - of course i get MIDI-in when i connect a Midikeyboard to
the MT4. So at least i´m able to play the Reaktorsynthesizers with
a keyboard (without any noticable latenzy).
When i control Reaktor from within LAPM, the tempo is acurate and
Reaktor even follows the tempochanges - so it´s not a Logic
problem.
The only problem is transmitting an external (MPC 2000) MIDIclock-
signal to Reaktor. In this situation Reaktor starts with half of the
tempo (MPC 2000 sends 160 bpm and Reaktor starts at 80 bpm and
permanently slows down).
So i guess its a problem between the MT4 and OMS (which i have to use
to get the MT4 recogniced by Reaktor).
I also posted this message on the Reaktor-list and got response from
another user who has the same problem.

I just checked the code of the OMS driver. All realtime bytes are
simply forwarded to OMS, without any processing. Hard to say what
Reaktor actually receives. Does it have a MIDI monitor?

Thanks a lot for your answers!
Reaktor only has a led for MIDI-in-detection and one for MIDI-out-
detection.
As i mentioned before, Reaktor receives perfect MIDI-timing when
it´s loaded as an AudioInstrument within LAMP.
The problem only occurs when i use Reaktor in standalone mode.
As version 3 of Reaktor/Mac will be released within the next few days
(that´s what Daniel Lieberberg told me on the sonar festival), i
hope that this update will solve my problem.

Have you set the Midi input input to the port where you also
recieve Midi?
Try setting the port to *MT4*. Does this work better? Please let
me know.
