Subject: AMT8 Wall Wart source? GEN
Message #66719
Hi, Sorry if this has been covered before. Does anyone know of a handy source to get an AMT8 wall wart (for US 120 volts AC)? I know that the output specs are 9 volts AC @ 900 mA. I just checked Radio Shack, and all the units they had in stock (and in their catalog) had built-in rectification with a DC output. Obviously, 9 volts AC do not equal 9 volts after rectification. What will the AMT8 accept, i.e. what are the parameters of its voltage rectification, filtration and regulation? Given how easy it is to lose or break a wall wart, I'm disappointed that there isn't a little more information or guidance in the manual regarding this. I'm also surprised that the voltage and current requirements aren't silk screened on the back of the unit itself. What have others done in the past? Should I just cut to the chase and attempt to get through to the Emagic U.S. office? Perhaps Walmart would be a good place to shop for wall warts. ;-) Lee Blaske
