Subject: Converting drum sequences from non-GM to GM ?
Message #6122
Does anybody have an easy way to reassign drum sequence note numbers created for the sounds in a non general midi instrument so that they correspond to the note numbers and sounds in the GM spec? I have hundreds of sequences created ten to twelve years ago using a Linn 9000 and additionally hundreds of others created 7 to 8 years ago using an Alesis D5 and an E-mu Procussion module that I would now like to make available in a general midi format. It's been very tedious going about it the way I'm doing it, demixing by note value and then reassigning each note number to it's corresponding general midi note number and sound. I know I could always reassign the map outputs of those older modules and then play them accross into Logic, but I don't own those modules any longer. Besides I've already converted a number of sequences into logic. Now I'm just looking to reassign the note numbers. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance, EIII
