Subject: Gen: I bought the LM-4 today
Message #66640
Hi All, Ahhh the temptation of it all...... like imagining the girl next door naked.... I broke down and bought it today. After a couple of hours of playing around with it.... it's not the be all and end all ultimate answer to my cosmic universal spiritual and emotional fulfillment to my music making life that I hoped it might be. (that;s a lot of pressure to put on a plugin!) But seriously.. although I don't regret the purchase and will no doubt find use for it, I was a little bit dissapointed. Maybe it's because I'm a drummer, but I find in general that the velocity layered multisamples on this and other sampled kits I've tried (on Samplecell) to be lacking a bit in the crossfading between the samples. It's a little too abrupt jumping from one sample to another at an arbitrary velocity. They need to crossfade smoothly into each other. And what's the deal on the shortage of ride cymbals in the Wizoo kits? The hi hats translated only moderately well when being triggered from my TD5 pads, but that's another issue. I found the toms in general a bit muddy sounding with too much unnatural resonance in the overtones and ringing, but they were pretty nice in general. But now that I'm in..... what's the deal on editing and creating scripts for this puppy again? The link Yavuz posted here for the editor on the kvr site seems to be for PC only. -- Eli Krantzberg Nightshift Orchestra / Almat Productions
