Subject: Re: [LUG] LAW: Which to buy? Motu 2408, Hammerfall, or Yamaha Factory?
Message #53027
I use a DSP Factory with LAG 3.6 (yes, it's that old) on a Pentium 233 with 160MB ram. I've had great luck with the card, and also have the ADAT I/O expansion as well as 2 Yamaha O1v's with the ADAT I/O. From what I understand, LAG 4.x allows DirectX and Logic plug ins with pre DSP2416 as well as the DSP's internal EFX - which would be an incentive to get the card - for it's DSP built in EFX and mixing ability with very little CPU drain. As for the Hammerfall - I've heard great things - but there's no analog I/O (which you don't need if you're using the O1V as an ADC. As for the MOTU - no idea. Sweetwater had a DSP FActory deal where you get it for like $600 and Minnetoka software with surround mixing bundled with it - it never hurts to have more software!!! steve << I'm in the valley of decision on which card to purchase. I'm a pc user and Im using the Logic Audio (LAW 4.6)software. I have a new 01v mixer. My choices are the Motu 2408, Yamaha DSP Factory, or the Hammerfall (HME)9652 card. Which,in your opinion is the best card? The price of the cared is important, but the capalibility (w/ logic Audio 4.6, 01v, and PIII PC)of the card is the most important. Thanks in advance >>
