Subject: Ongoing problems with Midi timing, hung notes, dead notes, LAPM
Message #891
My system: Power Tower Pro 225, 604e, 128Mb Ram Logic Audio Plat. Mac 3.7.2 MTPII Sound Diver 2.0.8r1 I emailed you several weeks ago detailing some Midi problems I have been experiencing that seem to get progressively worse: Dead notes while running Logic, randomly triggered notes, hung notes, inability to use Fast Mode with MTPII, etc. You (Michael Hayden) responded saying that it sounds like a failing Midi Interface. I was able to get a new unit from MOTU. Same problems. I've been using Logic since Version2. Never had any problems until 3.6. Guess what, I, for the first time, loaded OMS and all the glitches were GONE. What's the story here? My problems are still not solved. I havn't been able to get SoundDiver to work using OMS & Logic is not ALWAYS reacting properly to my Midi system under OMS (my instruments are not always recognized although all of the timing, hung notes, dead notes, etc. are gone under OMS. I havn't had my system running smoothly for months. What in the hell am I supposed to do here. I hope this email is somewhat clear because it's frustrating to get brief responses from Tech Support that do nothing but try to blame me, my equipment or something other than the obvious....Logic is not working properly. It's quite clear by now. Brendon McDonnell NightWing Productions Naples, FL

Try rebuilding your environment, make sure sequencer input object isn't duplicated. Do a full reset of your MTP (I think you hold down the buttons while switching on).Use MTPII Console 1.1 to setup it's easier than the front panel, you now have to use FreeMIDI to do this. I use a MTPII + MTP1 and cannot get fast mode to work since I upgraded to G3, but have no problems with slow mode. Blue.... Would have been nice if you described what exactly is not working with MIDI. You mention glitches, dead notes and say something about instruments not being recognized. Describe if you are getting MIDI data into the MIDI interface, if you are sure of your environment setup, cables(MIDI and audio) are okay etc. I see that you are an experienced sequencer user(since Logic 2.0). It could still be that your setup isn't correct. We all miss some little things, due mostly to presure of work. It can happen. So please give us more to go on. TIA, Yoonchi. >From: Brensolo@a... > >My system: >Power Tower Pro 225, 604e, 128Mb Ram >Logic Audio Plat.
