Message #28513
I am looking for a consultant in the San Francisco Area to help me set-up my system properly. Anyone knows of someone I could rely on for a consulting agreement?

I have setup the PC with Logic 4 Platinum, and is working like a beauty. However I am looking for someone to help me with: - My environment - My MIDI setup (Motu Micro Express, but getting MKII) - Mackie and Layla setup(not sure if I did it right). - General MIDI questions. Equipment list: 1 Mackie VLZ 1604 1 Synth 2 Sounds Modules 1 midi controller 1 drum machine 1 sampler I have read all manuals, also The Environment Toolki, Easy Guid to EMagic, etc etc. I want to make sure It's done properly. Thanks --- In logic-users@egroups.com, "tyork" <Tyork@e...> wrote: > > what type of system are you setting up? > logic based? pc/Mac? pro tools? etc..... > > -----Original Message----- > From: Igor Mathez [mailto:imathez@v...] > Sent: Wednesday, June 07, 2000 8:27 AM > To: logic-users@egroups.com > Subject: [LUG] Looking for Consultant in San Francisco Area > > > I am looking for a consultant in the San Francisco Area to help me > set-up my system properly. > what kind of sampler? The AKAI S6000 > ask away FIRST QUESTION: Right now this is how I have connected my system: NL II - input 1 and 2 of the mixer Drum Machine - input 3 and 4 of the mixer Alesis Nano Piano - input 5 and 6 of the mixer Akai S6000 - input 7 and 8 of the mixer E-Mu Orbit - input 9 and 10 of the mixer Mic - input 14 My 8 "direct out bal/unbal" on the Mackie mixer are going into my 8 input of the Layla. But because of this I can only record tracks 1 through 8 on my board which means that the E-Mu Orbit and my mic is not being recorded into my PC. My 8 "output from Layla" are not connected to my board, only output 1 and 2 which are connected to track 15 and 16 of my board. I am losing 6 output for control? Is that a good set-up or should I change it? SECOND QUESTION: My MIDI Box setup. MIDI in 1 - NordLead II MIDI in 2 - Drum Machine DR-202 MIDI in 3 - Fatar Midi Controller MIDI in 4 - Akai S6000 MIDI out 1 - NordLead II MIDI out 2 - Drum Machine DR-202 MIDI out 3 - Alesis Nano Piano MIDI out 4 - Akai S6000 MIDI out 5 - E-Mu Orbit I think this is good - but the problem is in my environment. I want my Fatar to only control the Alesis and the Orbit, but it controls anything instument that I highlighted in my arrange page. I think this is a MIDI error on my part. THIRD QUESTION: I think my environment is not correctly set-up. I can send you a copy of it and maybe when you have time, you could quickly look over it.
