Hi,
I also use the Waves Ultramaximizer but I was wondering exactly what does
the selection
"16 bit" and/or "24bit" in the Bounce to Disk dialog do?
If I'm already dithering thru Waves,
does this setting have any function other than setting the final bit-depth
of the bounced file? In
other words - does this setting perform truncation or does dithering in
Waves canel this out?
Thanks,

If you dither your mix to 16 and then do a 24 bit bounce, your mix
will be a 24 bit file with the last 8 bits all zeros. It won't be
truncated. In fact you could convert this resulting file to 16 bit
without dithering and it would sound fine, as you would be just
truncating 8 bits of zeros. If you want a 16 bit file, bounce at 16
bit, with the dither on. If you want a 24 bit file, turn the dither
off and bounce at 24 bits.
