Hi Thomas,
Just to clear things up, I did not request this feature, nor do I use
the ES-1 or any software synths within Logic. My post to this thread
suggested three possible solutions to the thread -intelligent harmonization
for MIDI and audio. These solutions vary in complexity and ease of use, as
well as result.
I agree that Harmonization in the MIDI domain would be useful for Logic,
although many MIDI tools exist, notably the transform window and the score
window which can be used to either write your own harmonizer or just write
the harmony in.
As for using pitch bend information as well, to create true or
mathematically more correct harmonics, I would say that a function like this
in Logic would be great.... Except for those of us who do not think of
harmony/pitch in the same way that the Emagic engineers or others in the
majority do.
I would prefer that Emagic create a MIDI plug-in standard for the
environment/track mixer that would allow them to write a harmonizer plug-in,
and users to write their own.
Compatibility with MAX patches would be great. Those of us that think 12
notes per octave is rather small could be very very happy....
peace, haven
