Honestly, if you look at the name Magix, it's easy to see the relation to E-Magic... The software is so unbelievably similar... It's a marketing venture to hit the home user market, and the multimedia market. Either Emagic is behind this directly or they sold the rights to their software, which I highly doubt is the case. I'm sure they are behind it in one way or another. JT

Hi, AFAIK, the Magix software has two parts, the "MIDI studio" (which is effectively a cut-down Logic) and the "Audio studio", effectively a cut-down SEK'D Samplitude. The whole thing sells to the consumer market, at a consumer price tag; I imagine the MIDI side is pretty similar to the "Micro Logic Fun" which has been given away for free on some magazines lately. kinda cool and pretty smart marketing techniques. downsized versions of two of my favorites. The consumer world should be very happy... Some of the power of Samplitudes audio engine with Some of Logics midi capabilities. They'll be nibbling on the hook before you know it :-) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Angus H [FXpansion Audio]" <angus@...> To: <logic-users@egroups.com> Sent: Friday, June 02, 2000 3:09 PM Subject: Re: [LUG] Magix > Hi, > > AFAIK, the Magix software has two parts, the "MIDI studio" (which is > effectively a cut-down Logic) and the "Audio studio", effectively a > cut-down SEK'D Samplitude.
