Subject: LAW, DSPfactory bugs, amd questions
Message #21746
I am former Atari/Notator-user. I have been working about one year with my LAW Platimum. I have DSP facory and AX44 installed. I have had some "minor" difficulties during my studiosession . I got this 4.1.4- update and noticed that I have now only 4 separate analog inputs. I re-installed everything and did everything elese but formatting hard disk. (I spent two days) After this a guy from Roland Scandinavia called me that it?s a bug in update. THANKS a lot Emagic- no info about this. I`m planning now calling a lawyer that I know.... So I recorded drums into Akai DR16 and and I tried to to record these tracks to Pc using those 4 inputs. MTC- timing hassle... Drums slowed down after a minute. So I re-instlled everything and cleaned everything and then suddenly it worked. Don`t ask me how. (I spent one day again) Now this session is finished. 15 tracks in Pc and 6 tracks in Akai, and still alive (both machine and me) I have overclocked 450 Mhz Celeron. My machines moterherboard supports only 33udma harddisk, but my harddisk is faster (5500 rounds). So it?s time to upgrade, because machine works quite slowly and information "CPU or harddisk too slow" announcements makes me crazy. I`m planning to buy 550 MHZ P III and, but what motherboard? Is this processor fast enough, beacause it`s price seems quite reasonable in here in Finland. I have also SB live, Terratec Maestro (ISA) and Yamaha DB50XG as additional soundcards in my PC. I`m also planning to buy Gigasampler 1.6. Any comments how that works with LAW ? Thanks Ismo Koskela Artismo Oy ismo.koskela@... http://www.kempele.fi/~ikoskela
