Subject: Re: kinda OT: choosing SCSI HD for beige g3/LAMG
Message #15600
Hello, I also have a Beige G3/333 with the UW SCSI card and 9GB drive on it, and I put an internal Jaz 1GB on the SCSI 2 part on the card. I've partitioned the 9GB into three parts, one for apps and two for stuff, including audio. The stock 9GB drive is plenty fast for at least 5 or 6 tracks of concurrent audio, haven't tried any more than that. And believe it or not, the Jaz can run 2 or 3 tracks of audio off the SCSI 2 port (recommended for back only though ). I always buy my computer components at Fry's Electronics. (So Cal chain store). have fun! chadman >From: en doop <enviroj@...> >my beige g3 has internal UltraWide SCSI hard drive. i >was planning to use it for apps (Logic Gold, etc) and >get another hd for audio (4Gb+) and attach it to that >same SCSI chain. > >Wizoo Guide has great recommendations (thanks Dave!) >but i was also hoping someone out there has a similar >setup and can give me more specific recommendations >(Make/model) about SCSI/UW SCSI audio hd he/she uses. >Pointers as to where i can order one will also be >greatly appreciated. > >THanks so much, >James ----------------------------------------------------------- The Chadman (Chad Bishop Nankervis) • '98 Kawasaki ZX-7R / Yamaha YSR 50 CMRRA #102 http://www.12inch.com/motorcycle/ <--- Roadrash magazine
