I won't be updating the realworld page anymore... no time :-(
But to give you an idea: The 2 min harmonic shift file which used to
take ‰90 sec on my Starmax 4200 G3/300 now takes ‰60 sec on my G4/350
- that is about a 30% reduction. I do not think this function is
optimized for the velocity engine yet so the benefit probably comes
entirely from better FPU and a bit from increased clock speed.
As for track playback, I have not done the bench - maybe I will at
some point - at any rate: I am regularly using 24 stereo tracks with
a send to Platinum verb, and usually an eq or effect inserted on most
tracks. The G4 is handling this much without problem.
