Hi Peter,
Probably you have "Maximum Recording Time (Recommended) off in Set
Audio Record
Path.
If this is the case what happening is that before you record any audio Logic
creates a file to hold the recording audio file(s).
The large of the created file can be as big as your hard disk space. The
effect
of this is that if your audio recorded file is shorter that the pre-created
recording file-space, then , the audio file will be very fragmented. To
avoid
the fragmentation turn On Maximum Recording Time, and assign a number of
your
desired recording time.
After or before this, the faster solution for the problem is to run Norton
Speed Disk or other similar utility. According to the manual these programs
can
go deeply into the analysis of fragmentation than Analyze Fragmentation
feature
in Logic itself.
