We just built a workstation with ABIT BE6, and so far it looks like a
very nice motherboard. However, the supplied HighPoint UDMA/66 drivers
were v1.0, and they didn't work AT ALL! We had a brand new 13 GB Seagate
drive hooked to the UDMA/66 connector of the motherboard, and the
measured transfer rate was below 1 MB/s !! (guaranteed to cause "CPU
too slow" errors). So, we figured out that the UDMA/66 drivers were
totally broken, and downloaded new drivers (v.1.11) from:
http://www.highpoint-tech.com/
After installing the new drivers the transfer rates increased to over 10
MB/s ! It was quite strange that there was no sign of the new drivers at
ABIT's website and not even a link to HighPoint's site.
As quite a few other motherboard manufacturers are using the same
UDMA/66 controller chips, I wonder how many of us are getting errors
because of the same reason....

Why not? It works perfectly fine, and there's no cheaper sampler
substitute around.... :-)
