Subject: Motherboards & Soundcards
Message #3313
Anyone using the Abit BE6 or ASUS P3B-F motherboards succesfully with Logic? I was on the point of ordering the BE6, but came across loads of discussion groups mentioning problems with IRQ conflicts and IDE device recognition. I ideally want a board that supports UDMA66, are there any other boards that support it? Am I right in thinking that a card such as DSP Factory or AW2/AW8 is a recording card only, not a *sound* card, therefore in order to be able to play CDs and use soft-synths, you need a 'normal' sound card in addition to the recording card? If so, I'm looking for a simple but reliable sound card that would do the job, any recommendations? (Please don't say SBLive). Thank you. ---------------------------------------- Leszek Gasiorek leszek@c... www.controlzone.com ----------------------------------------

This is a reply to #3313.
DSPF does not have a connection for cdrom drives. If you only need to play cds, you might as well connect your cd to your external mixer with a cable. This will save you a few bucks and a pci slot. -----Original Message----- From: Leszek Gasiorek [mailto:leszek@t...] Sent: Thursday, September 30, 1999 5:39 PM To: logic-users@onelist.com Subject: [LUG] Motherboards & Soundcards From: "Leszek Gasiorek" <leszek@t...> Anyone using the Abit BE6 or ASUS P3B-F motherboards succesfully with Logic?
