I've just had lots of Logic 8 crashes on my G5 (8 meg Ram Dual 2.5 Ghz) with all sorts of weird file corruptions. Continued until my system literally ground to a halt. Wouldn't start up. So i did an Archive/Reinstall of the Tiger System software and it's all running perfectly now. No weirdnesses with Logic 8, PTools etc. This method saves most of your settings while re-installing new system. I had to re-install PTools (but it remembered my settings), likewise Midi Over Lan software and a few other bits. Mark

No weirdnesses with Logic 8, PTools etc. Well, I've finally found the source of my problem after a visit to the local Apple guys - and a very nice no-charge quick snoop around - the user is dead. Everything else was working fine, but Logic is now totally unusable on my user. I've created a new user and things are now working fine. I guess that's the first step for anyone else experiencing these problems. I'll monitor it for a while, and then archive & reinstall was the next step. Actually, the Apple repair guys just laughed at hardware test, saying they never ever find anything reported as wrong through the hardware test, and don't even bother with it... Thanks everyone for the help! >>>> Ian Henderson http://www.ianhenderson.com http://www.myspace.com/ianhendersonlive OSX 10.4.11/Quad G5/4.5GB/MH ULN-2
