It sounds like you have a corrupted session. That does happen,
unfortunately - it's not a new Logic 8 feature.
For literally years I was unable to select controllers properly in
the hyperedit screen and figured it simply didn't work. Then I saw a
friend doing it on his machine.
It turned out to be a corrupted screenset in my autoload. Rebuilding
that single screenset solved the problem - it was the only thing that
was corrupted.

Nick - does that apply to new projects, or existing ones. I've run a
whole lot of maintenance stuff on my machine. I can open Logic
without any projects open, but when I open a project, any project, it
just crashes. How do you rebuild a corrupted screenset, and could it
apply to all my projects, when they have been working in the last few
days?
thanks, Ian

crashes but rather kernel panics that cause me to have to reboot my
machine. They happen fairly frequently (especially if I pull up
different projects) and I've yet to isolate the cause. I'm also
running Leopard though so I'm thinking it could be that. Between
Logic 8, An Apogee Ensemble and a Mackie Control, there are still
MANY things to be worked out (even with the new drivers). Let me
know if you solve your issue and I'll do the same.
