Subject: [LUG] Working with DVD's and Logic
Message #236437
Hi there Logic people, I've got to do some scoring work, and the production company is sending me the vision on DVD. In the past, I've actually always received all video as quicktime movies, so I've never had to convert video myself. Can someone please tell me how I go about doing this so that I can sync it with Logic? I'm assuming that I need a DVD ripper or something like that? Any help will be appreciated! I used it on my first Mac-based project recently - I had to rip from a DVD because I couldn't get a QT/AVI, and I found it was dropping frames because of flaws in the DVD TC. I ended up using MPEG Streamclip (which is free, but requires the QT MPEG2 plugin to do DVD ripping, which you have to pay £12 for). It can spot and fix timecode errors. All apologies to Handbrake if I'm wrong, but I really couldn't get a rip without dropped frames when I was using it. Regards, Martin www.mosso.co.uk
