I have the new logic package, and the WAVEBURNER program keeps defaulting to
44.1.
It recognizes the cues I pull into it as 48, but it plays them back at 44.1,
giving the famous Alvin and the Chipmunks results.
Does anyone know how to change the sample rate within WAVEBURNER to 48?

Well, WaveBurner is a program for burning CDs, and CDs *must be*
16-bit/44.1kHz, so that's probably why it's forcing you to 44.1. You need
to convert your files to 44.1 before bringing them into WaveBurner. I don't
think it does its own sample rate conversion.

No Waveburner does do src, and can handle higher sample rates than 44.1. I'm
routinely
using it at 48 and 96 Khz (G5 2x2.5/4.5Gb/OSX 10.4.10). Maybe you need to
change the
sample rate on your soundcard control app, or the Audio/midi setup
(apps>utilities>audio
midi setup.)

True dat! Ive dropped plenty of 24bit/48K 'masters' into WB and it
converts when you bounce the project before burning. Never had any
issues with the 'chipmunk' effect over here.

Hi!
I did a comparison in src between WB, L7, QT and PT some time ago.
When doing a null test between a src from 95/24 and all the three, L7 and PT
at
"tweakhead" almost cancelled each other, but WB did absolutely not
with the others.
Just listening at the file in QT (realtime src fro 96) sounded better than
WB...
So, I do src in Logic/ PT/ analog and never waveburner, Maybe its better
now? I read
something about it...
Best,

Chipmunk? so that would mean it's playing more quickly. like a 44.1 at 96?
I always record at 192 or 96 and drop into WB no problems, but if you're
getting chipmunks you have the opposite problem as what you described.

I don't know what your hardware is, but using my ProTools HD2 I've
always found that Waveburner plays back at the wrong sample rate until
*after* it's burned the CD. Then it's fine. Evidently it has to
process the SRC as it's burning, so it can't wrap its little computer
mind around playback until it's done its job. HTH

It doesnt do the SRC 'on the fly' as its burning.
It wont even let you burn your project until you bounce it down to a
single file which will end up 16/44.1k..
SRC is done just before the actual burn but not during the process.
