I've been using Logic 7.2.0 on my MacBook Pro since May, and have had no
issues until now.
Now, all of a sudden, Logic won't see any MIDI information coming from my
interface (which
I've troubleshoot-ed enough to find the problem is with Logic), and after
working in a song
for about 5 minutes, my computer completely crashes. Any ideas around what
might be
causing this? Might something weird going on with MIDI be crashing the
computer?
Thanks!

My first question would always be: what changed on your computer, or
the system, when this started? An App upgrade or update? Something
changed, and to figure out what will lead to the solution.

See, that's the thing that's weird. Nothing has changed. I haven't
installed anything, I
haven't moved anything... nothing. It's coming out of nowhere.
Hmmmm...

ANY apps auto update? Maybe Quick time, a pref pane of some kind,
something that might have done it in the background...

The crash happened when I worked on a session that I'd originally received
from someone
else. I've been working on this session for months with no problems. But
it seems that
this particular session is making the computer crash. I worked on a
different session (that
I created) for 2 hours last night with no problems. But 10 minutes into the
session I got
from someone else, it crashed. I even saved a new session from the old one,
but still the
same problem.

So the session is corrupted in some way. I've had issues with Logic 7
file sessions in 8, with strange warnings coming up, but no crashing.
Are you using 7 or 8?
Can they just send the audio files, from bar one, beat one, with a SMF
with the tempo map (if there is one).
That should allow you to get going with a new session, bypassing the
problem file.
Good luck,
George
