Subject: MIDI problems - random no note-offs
Message #235313
Hi, am new to Logic and have what may be a noob q. Using Kurzweil K2600XS as MIDI controller (through MOTU Fastlane USB), MacBookPro (Intel), Logic Studio (8). Seemingly at random, notes will 'hang' as no note-off will be sent. Happens when tracking in Logic as well as in Mainstage. In Kurzweil's MIDI XMIT page, the "Panic" softbutton doesn't do anything...although of course Logic's Caps Lock keyboard "ESC" will send an all notes off command. 1) Is there something I can do to get the Kurzweil to more accurately XMIT the data? Is this an Environment "transformer" thing? I'm a complete noob to Logic and therefore haven't spent any time understanding the Environment, but read in the EVP88 section about a transformer to tailor velocity response...don't know if this is apples/oranges. 2) Is there a way to assign a "Panic" button to the Kurzweil...or get Logic to listen to the Kurzweil's? I need it if I'm going to use Mainstage live. I've called Kurzweil to see if they have an answer too. If this is really too noob a q for this group, just let me bluntly know as I won't be offended, but thanks for any help in advance. Tim
